Parents,

I wanted to remind and update you on a few things here at school.

Reminders

Uniforms - The uniform store is now fully stocked on SCCS uniform shirts. Your child is expected to be in proper uniform (khaki pants, blue polo shirt with SCCS logo, ALL black sneakers, ALL black belt, and solid black/white/khaki/navy blue socks) every day. Uniform Violations will be issued to those students who are not in proper uniform. Multiple uniform violations will result in In-School Suspension until proper uniform is provided.

Homework - You child will be given homework each night with the exception of Friday. Please encourage your child to complete their homework each night. Unless otherwise stated, homework is due the very next morning. Please also encourage your child to bring their homework back to school so that they can receive their homework points.

Reading Log - As part of your child's homework, they should be reading each night for 30 minutes (this should include the weekend as well). When your child has finished their nightly reading, they should (or you can) fill out their reading log. The name of the book, the date they read it and how many pages they read must be filled out. Once filled out, I ask that you sign on the Parent Signature column. Students will be given a prize once they fill the entire log (approx. once every 30 days).


Monday Folder - Each Monday your child will bring home a (bright) green Monday Folder. In this folder will be all of their work from the previous week so that you can be aware of your child's academic progress thus far. Please review the work with your child and sign the signature sheet that is attached to the folder. You may keep the work that is inside the folder unless it says please return. This folder should come back to school with your child every Tuesday. Please note that most tests and quizzes will be asked to be returned.


Transportation - It is VERY IMPORTANT that you notify me if your child's afternoon transportation should change. If your child's afternoon transportation changes, please send a note to school with your child or call the front office. If I do not receive a written note or a phone call from you, your child will take his/her normal transportation home.

Box Tops for Education - Please support SCCS by sending in Box Tops. Box Top coupons can be found on many food products such as Cheerios, Lucky Charms, Kix, Cocoa Puffs, Hamburger Helper, Pillsbury products, and Betty Crocker products, to name a few. Click the link to see a full list of Box Tops participating products.
*Note: You do not need to send in the whole box. Simply cut out the box top and send that in.
